Senteo Questions

Posted on Jul 7, 2008 in Science Resources, SMARTboards | 0 comments

I haven’t got round to writing that many question sets for my Senteo just yet, that’s a job for the summer once I’ve got my other writing jobs done.

But, if you are looking for Senteo questions for Primary Science then can I point you in the direction of Mark Warners excellent Teaching Ideas website.

They don’t have their own section, so you will need to look in each science page and pick them out, but there’s plenty to choose from. The links to the three pages are below:

Seesmic

This is a test video from Seesmic. Seesmic is a nifty website that lets you record videoblogs straight onto the Seesmic site, and also record video comments on other peoples posts.

Picture quality is quite compressed, but then if you want better quality then use something like Youtube to host your videos. I guess Seesmic is more about the quick and easy way of getting a video online and having a conversation.

Here’s an introductory video I have recorded. Apologies for the sound quality – I think that’s more a problem with my webcam than an issue with Seesmic.

Update - you can already see how the conversation bit works since somebody has replied to my introduction message, and I’ve replied back.

For another good use of Seesmic, check out Terry Freedmans quick 2 minute Inset guides.

Promethean moves into a new orbit

Posted on Jul 7, 2008 in Promethean, Resources | 0 comments

Promethean has launched an enhanced version of its online teaching community, Promethean Planet. The site has been transformed to offer improved functionality and content.

A ‘best practice’ section is just one of new additions to the teaching community, which offers advice from top educationalists on implementing interactive technologies in the classroom. In addition, the new version of Promethean Planet provides improved search facilities, a dedicated ‘Activtips’ area containing bite-sized clips of popular software functions, as well as a new ‘theme’ section, which features free downloadable resources on current topics and events.

If your school is a Promethean school then a visit to Promethean Planet is essential.
