Energy Lesson Starters
I’ve added a new file to the Science Files section of the Think Bank website that may be of interest to Science teachers.
The file contains several different activities that could be used for lesson starters for lessons on Energy changes and types of Energy. It includes images to start discussions, build your own energy chains as well as a couple of anagram games.
The files are Promethean Activ Inspire and Smart Notebook 10 versions. This will not open on older versions of ActivStudio I am afraid.
You can download both versions of the file via the Think Bank website here. Scroll down to the Physics area.
If you liked my Equation Editor, I have also now added an ActivInspire version of that too. I’m finding the new patch for ActivInspire makes converting from Smart Notebook files a whole lot more successful!

Thanks to Mark at Promethean for linking this great site on Twitter. It’s an interesting introduction to animation.
Basically you can create your own little character and watch him/her dance.
To make your own, click on the Paint icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. You are then taken to a painting screen where you can freehand draw, or use shapes, to create a character within the outline of a person.
You can then watch him dance, and also view the creations of other people. It is then possible to embed your creation into your blog… which hopefully I have done below.
If that doesn’t work, click here to see it.
You do not have a lot of control over the movement – this is purely for creating a dancing person, but it is quite fun!
Check it out here.
