Enriching Maths/Science Teaching

Posted on Apr 18, 2011 in Useful Links | 0 comments

Dan Meyer teaches high school math outside of Santa Cruz, CA, In this video he explores the intersection of math instruction, multimedia, and inquiry-based learning.

This has relevance to teachers of Science as well. How can we switch kids back on to enquiry? What role does multimedia play in this?

On a related note (which is where I found the link to Dan’s video) – there’s an interesting discussion over at Action Reaction about the Khan Academy videos and what they say about how we teach. Go check it out.

It also has added Calvin and Hobbes, which is always a pleasure.
