I was tagged by fellow trainer and mummy blogger Chrissie Saunders (@Mediocre_mum) in a blog meme to talk about what apps I have on my iPhone. My iPhone is very useful tool for me – but sometimes it now plays second fiddle to my iPad. I have so many apps that I’ve installed and then rarely use.
So here goes:
The main page has my most used apps on it – so Google Mail, Words with Friends, Facebook and a Twitter app. Also a camera app (I’ve replaced the regular one and use CP Pro instead). Toodledo is installed in the vain hope that I’ll start organising myself more than just sticking post it notes all around my monitor.
Page 2 is where I store most of the secondary apps that I use. So calculator, YouTube and Dropbox live here. Likewise my Apple Remote and the Sky+ app so I can control iTunes on my PC and set my Sky+ PVR.
The folders contain Reference apps (IMDB, Wikipedia, Kindle etc), Shopping (Ebay, Amazon, Red Laser etc), News/Sport (BBC, Sky News, RSS Reader, Arsenal Blog) and Travel (Around Me, Tube Map, Nearest Tube, Travel News and Trip Adviser). I also have a few browsers in a folder – Puffin, Atomic Web and Opera.
The Photography folder contains Flickr app, plus instagram, Hipstamatic, Photoshop Express, Darkslide and one or two other photo applications. Also the default camera tool.
The Games page – Bejeweled is the main one I play when I have a little time. Many of the others are there for my niece to play. Cut the Rope is an excellent game, if you haven’t already seen it.
After this page, the apps are not really arranged – more of a dumping ground for those apps I use from time to time, but not a lot. Here are things like RadioBox – great internet radio app and Pocket Universe – excellent for helping you identify constellations and planets at night. iSpy gives you access to webcams all over the world.
More rubbish on the next page that gets an airing from time to time. Lightsaber, the Random Activity Generator etc. Epicurious and All Recipes are good for getting ideas for dinners from time to time. Shazam is excellent for identifying songs on the radio. On the last page, are my barcode readers such as QuickMark and Tag Reader.
So that’s it. I won’t tag anybody else – but if you want to add what you’ve got on your phone then please do so on your blog and throw a link in the comments so we can look.
