If, like me, you’ve been playing with the trial version of Promethean’s new ActivSoftware inspire edition then I am guessing you can’t wait to get your hands on the full version of the software.
If you’ve been waiting for the full version before testing it out, then now’s your chance.
From Midnight tonight (Sunday 1st March) the full version of ActiveSoftware Inspire will be available for download. You can find out all you need to know here: http://www.prometheanplanet.com/activinspire
The software comes in several flavours:
ActivInspire Personal Edition – if you don’t own any Promethean hardware, but would like a cut-down version with only some of the tools available but lets you open the range of ready-made resources and import Smart Notebook files and PowerPoint files then the Personal Edition can be downloaded for free. All you need to do is register with Promethean Planet.
ActivInspire Professional Edition – this version is for current users of ActivPrimary or ActivStudio and will require you to have a valid Promethean serial number to be able to upgrade to the new version. Alternatively if you do not have Promethean hardware you can purchase a full version of the software for an introductory price of £99 (£299 from June 09).
To find your serial number – open Activ Primary or Activ Studio, go to File, then Help then About… the serial number should be displayed. You can then use that serial to download the new version. There’s some help on this in the Promethean Knowledgebase.
If you currently use ActivPrimary or ActivStudio then I highly recommend getting the upgrade.
Training videos from Promethean on using the new software can be found on the Promethean Planet website. They are well worth a look to get you started.
(Update – I’m downloading it now, so looks like it’s available slightly earlier than the midnight launch time. Get in now and beat the rush)
