Animate Me is an interesting app that allows children to investigate how to make 3D animations using pre-created characters. They can move and post the characters frame by frame. Animations can then be uploaded on YouTube to share with friends and family. Sadly, it doesn’t look like you can add voice effects, which is a shame.

The app would be useful to get children used to the idea of stop-frame animation, before trying some of the other apps such as Lego Movie Creator or Zu3D mentioned before on this blog.

The app is free, with one basic character. Two additional characters are available as in-app purchases (69p a character).
