Science Explorers App and Primary Resources from BP

The Science Explorer training app is a fun treasure hunt game for 7 to 11 year olds. Get your pupils to solve riddles to find trigger images around the classroom. Hold the tablet’s camera over the trigger images to unlock fun science skill activities and reveal your Class Challenge! Pupils can even select a scientist to take a selfie with, so they can join the ranks of other amazing Science Explorers!

You can get the app here.

You can also download the Trigger Images sheet here.  Note that you will need to login or register on the BP Educational Service website to download and print the Trigger Images sheet to get started.

The training app was produced to accompany the updated Science Explorers resources site. This is a fun, flexible collection of primary resources designed to help teachers to run a Science Day or a whole week of activities for their class or the whole school. Pupils will be guided through the activities, working together to answer the Big Question: “Why are living things the way they are?”.

The resources are specially designed to appeal to non-specialists, supporting primary teachers who are less confident in science teaching by taking a fun, interactive and whole-school approach. Through the app, videos and classroom activities, Science Explorers can support schools and teachers when encouraging engagement with science from an early age.

It’s a great set of free resources. Go check them out here :

Disclaimer : I helped to write a coupld of the new units in these resources, so I’m a bit biased. But they are very good. Go take a look and see!
