The BioEthics Education project website is an interactive website and virtual learning environment for secondary school science teachers and their students. It is a teaching resource developed to highlight the moral, ethical, social, economic, environmental and technological implications and applications of biology.
It covers topics such as: Genes, DNA and Reproduction, Genetic Technology, Human Health, Environmental Ethics, Animal Ethics. It also fits in nicely into teaching about How Science Works. The aim is to provide up to date and balanced information that students can use to develop their arguments when debating or discussing ethical issues in science.
Each section has discussion points which can be used in class as well as links to worksheets and other resources. There are also some useful video interviews with scientists.
A Level biology teachers can search using their A Level syllabus to find useful teaching resources.
