Russell Tarr, of the excellent Classtools.net website has added yet another great tool to the website. A QR treasure hunt generator. All you need to do is input a text file with 10 questions on it, and the software generates the codes for you.
Students use a mobile device with a QR code reader app on it. When decoded, each QR code gives a question that the students need to answer. Put the codes around the classroom/school for them to find.
The site also links to some good websites with other ideas for using QR codes in the classroom.
