Room Recess : Educational Games for Primary Numeracy and Literacy

RoomRecess is a free website which provides flash-based games for Primary/Elementary age children. was developed entirely by an elementary school teacher with the goal of reinforcing fundamental learning concepts in math, reading, spelling, language arts, and basic problem solving.

The games are fun and engaging. Although I wish there was a way of turning off the rather annoying music! A full-screen option would also be useful for display on an IWB. The games are in Flash, and so won’t work on iPads.

Games are sorted by grade/year and by skill/topic. The site is free to use, and so is well worth bookmarking.

Go take a look at and see what you think.
