Are you looking to add a unique and eye-catching touch to your PowerPoint presentations? Filling text with an image can be an impressive way to make your titles, keywords, and other textual elements stand out. In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to fill any piece of text with an image in Microsoft PowerPoint, allowing you to create visually stunning slides that captivate your audience.
Step 1: Creating Your Text
To begin, open Microsoft PowerPoint and create a new presentation or open an existing one. Navigate to the slide where you want to add the text. Click on the “Insert” tab in the top menu and select “Text Box” from the Text group. Click and drag on the slide to create the text box, then type in the desired text. Choose a wide font for your text to achieve the best results. Make it bold too if it helps.
Step 2: Accessing Text Effects
Right-click on the text. A menu will appear, and from there, select “Format Text Effects.” This will open up a side window with various formatting options.
Step 3: Applying Image Fill
In the side window, navigate to the “Shape Options” section. Locate “Text Fill” and notice that it’s set to “Solid Fill” by default. Click on the drop-down menu next to “Solid Fill” and choose “Picture or Texture Fill.”
Step 4: Inserting the Image
After selecting “Picture or Texture Fill,” a dialog box will appear with options to choose your image. You can use a picture from your computer or opt for online images. In the video, I typed “ocean” to search for online images related to the ocean. You can do the same or use your preferred keywords.
Step 5: Customizing the Background
To enhance the overall effect, you can also customize the slide’s background to match the image-filled text. Simply right-click on the slide, choose “Format Background,” and explore different solid fill options until you find a colour that complements your text.
