The Great Plant Hunt is an exciting project from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, funded and commissioned by the Wellcome Trust. The Great Plant Hunt aims to encourage school children aged 3–11 to explore the natural world around them, have fun and enjoy a rewarding learning experience. And they’ve now teamed up with Promethean Planet to share their resources with teachers around the world.
These engaging educational interactive challenges for all age ranges can be used by children independently on a whiteboard or as a whole class activity. They use familiar teaching processes and concepts – specialist training and support is not needed.
Kew’s Great Plant Hunt interactive games can be supported with short films of real-life plant hunters from exotic far-flung places, classroom activities and resources to support assemblies. The complete Great Plant Hunt teaching resources support three plant science activities over five or six lessons for each primary year group across all UK national curricula.
